Jira

Shortcut (Clubhouse)

The following applies to all imports

In general, we attempt to map most basic fields to their Superthread equivalent.

We preserve the original creator and creation timestamp of each imported task.

Attachments are imported either as an inline image in the description, or added to the attachments section of a card. You will have the option of mapping users to people you have invited to Superthread. All imported cards include a link in the card description back to the original place they were imported from.

If someone on your team imported issues in the past, you'll see a history of past imports on the Importers settings page.

Trello

To start a Trello import, go to Settings > Workspace > Importers and select Trello.

We’ll ask you to login to your Trello account and grant Superthread permission to read from your Trello Boards. We will not import any data until you’ve confirmed all the options in the final step of the process.

We’ll map Trello fields to Superthread fields like this:

Trello → Superthread

  • Title → Title

  • Description → Description (including a link back to the original Trello card)

  • Labels → Tags (space level)

  • Members → Assignees

  • Due date → Due date

  • Checklists → Checklists

  • Comments → Comments

  • Attachments → Attachments

  • Cover image → Attachments

Card statuses

Trello has no native concept of ‘Card status’ (for example you cannot mark a card as ‘Done’ in Trello). Therefore, when you import cards into Superthread, we will attempt to map each of your Trello lists (columns) to an appropriate status in Superthread.

‘Backlog’ status

If the names of you Trello list contain any of these words;

Unstarted, Not started, Backlog, Todo, To do, or to-do

they will be mapped to the status ‘Backlog’.

‘In progress’ status

If the names of you Trello lists contain any of these words;

Doing, progress, QA, Quality, Pull, Review, Pause, Wait, Started.

they will be mapped to the status ‘In progress’.

‘Done’ status

If the names of you Trello lists contain any of these words;

Done, Finished, Complete, Closed, Deployed, Production, Shipped, Live.

they will be mapped to the status ‘In progress’.

Jira

To start a Jira import, go to Settings > Workspace > Importers and select Jira.

We use the Jira API to import issues from your Jira Project. Therefore you’ll need to have sufficient permissions to create Jira API tokens.

You’ll also need your Jira email address and the cloud hostname of your Jira installation. This typically looks like yourcompany.atlassian.net that your’ll see in URL when you log in to Jira.

You should not include the https:// at the start, or anything after the .net

We’ll map Jira issues to Superthread Cards like this:

Jira → Superthread

  • Summary → Title

  • Workflow status → List status

  • Description → Description (including a link back to the original Jira issue)

  • Assignee → Assignee

  • Reporter → Creator

  • Labels → Tags (space level)

  • Due date → Due date

  • Comments → Comments

  • Attachments → Attachments

Note: After your import, the Jira columns may be in the wrong order in your board – but its easy to drag and drop them back into their intended order.

Shortcut (Clubhouse)

To start a Shortcut import, go to Settings > Workspace > Importers and select Shortcut.

We use the Shortcut API to import stories from your Shortcut Teams. Therefore you’ll need to have sufficient permissions to create Shortcut API tokens.

Shortcut ‘workflows’ will be converted to Superthread ‘boards’. Each state in the workflow be added as a list in the board. Because workflows can be shared across multiple Shortcut Teams, we’ll create a board for each ‘Team – Workflow’ in Superthread.

To preserve the relationship between Epics and Stories, we recommend you include Epics in your import. If you select this option during the import process, all your Shortcut Epics will be imported as parent cards to a Superthread board called ‘Epics’.

We’ll map Shortcut stories to Superthread cards like this:

Shortcut → Superthread

  • State → mapped to most similar Superthread ‘status’

  • Title → Title

  • Tasks → Checklist items on a card

  • Labels → Tags (workspace level)

  • Due → Due date

  • Owner → Assignee

  • Requester → Creator

  • Story relationships → mapped to the equivalent Superthread relationship

  • Priority → mapped to Superthread ‘priority’ field

  • Comments → Comments

  • Attachments → Attachments

  • Severity → a tag is created for each severity level (workspace tags)

  • Skill set → a tag is created for each skill set (workspace tags)
