Updates and improvements shipped in Superthread throughout the first half of 2023 🚀

Features

• Space homepage redesign – we’ve refreshed the way boards and pages are displayed in the space homepage:

  • View boards or pages side by side with the new ‘2 column’ layout option.

  • Boards previews are now more compact so that you can see more cards at once.

  • View the number of cards in each board.

  • Pages now display their custom icon and any subpages (if present).

  • Favourite or copy a link to a board or page directly from the space homepage.

• Comment threads – click the reply button on a comment to create a thread. Threads let you discuss a topic in more detail without cluttering a card or generating excessive notifications. Only people participating in the thread will be notified of replies to it. This includes the person that posted the original comment, people who replied to it, and anybody @mentioned in it.

• Sort cards in a Board – you can now sort the cards in a board by due date, created date, or last updated timestamps.

Improvements

• Move cards – you can now move cards to another board by selecting the ‘Move to board’ option from the 3 dot menu on a card (don’t worry, drag and drop still works too).

• Set parent card – you can now set a parent card from the 3 dot menu of a card.

• Replying to a comment from a Slack notification will now post the reply in a thread.

• In the desktop app, quick cards and pages that are created through the ‘New card/page’ button will now be included in the list of recently viewed items.

• You can now duplicate a card from within a View.

Fixes

• On mobile, the text in comments is no longer indented.

• You can now open the members dropdown in the ‘Manage spaces’ screen.

• On the ‘Manages spaces’ screen, we now hide tooltips when you scroll the page.

• Fixed many small issues with the redesign of the child card creation flow.

• We added hover states and tweaked the button style when viewing the list of team members in the Members settings page.

• Fixed the create card option in the slash menu.

• Searching Unsplash for cover images now works again.

• The buttons for previous/next card in the list now work as expected in the ‘My work’ page.

• Opening the top result in search is now faster.

• Fixed an issue with renaming a card in a view, after performing an archive.

Features

• Parent and child Cards redesign – creating child cards, and setting parent cards has been completely redesigned. When creating cards you can now:

  • Select a board – child cards can now be created in any space/board/list that you choose.

  • Add a description whilst creating child cards.

  • Add tags whilst creating a card.

  • Set a parent card (this is already set for you when creating a card directly as a child)

• View a card’s parent in the board – if a card has a parent set, the parent will now be displayed above the title of the card.

• Guest members – you can now invite guest members which have limited access to your workspace. Guests will only be able to access the specific spaces that they’ve been added to.

• Go to the next/previous card in a list – when viewing a card, you can now jump to the next/previous card even faster. Just click the next/previous arrows in the header, or use the keyboard shortcuts ⬆ ⬇ or K J

Improvements

• Work with (pending) invited users immediately – when you invite a team member, you can start assigning them to cards and spaces immediately. You don’t need to wait for them to accept the invite. After they accept, they’ll already know what they need to work on and pay attention to.

• Attach any type of file to Cards – we’ve added support for many more document, image, and file types including PDF, CSV, DOCX, JSON, HEIC, SVG, AVIF.

Fixes

• The text in the slash menu dropdown is now visible again.

• When clicking on an inline comment, we will now ensure that the latest replies are always loaded.

• When viewing card attachments we have disabled the keyboard shortcuts for moving to the next card in a list.

• Removed an unused divider in the 3 dot menu for spaces.

• When selecting text with your cursor, if the highlighted text included a link, clicking anywhere in your selection would open the link.

• Fixed a rare issue where some html elements would not be removed when navigating between a page and a board.

• Fixed some cases where clicking the ‘Update to latest version’ notification would not disappear after updating.

• You can now paste images directly into inline comments in pages.

• In the desktop app, cards and pages that you create through the New card/New page buttons will now show in the ‘Recently viewed’ list.

• In the desktop app, you can now drag the app window around when viewing a page.

Features

• Slash menu – we now have a slash menu in our text editor. Just type / to bring up a list of commands for quickly formatting text and inserting content.

• Team member profiles – hovering over a user’s avatar will now display their profile. Clicking the ‘View work’ button will show you all the cards they are currently working on.

• Summary sidebar for Spaces and Boards – view high level information about the current Space or Board by clicking on sidebar button in the top right of the header.

Improvements

• The Space management page is now sorted to show Spaces you are member of at the top of the list.

• You can now expand inline images in comments and browse them in the media viewer.

• We’ve tweaked the design of the image upload modal.

Fixes

• Throughout the app, the spacing between icons and text is now consistent when using either emoji or regular icons.

• In the desktop app, pages with emoji icons will now display correctly in the list of recently viewed items.

• We now remove the attachment ID query parameter from the URL after closing an attachment.

• Fixed the width of the Join/Leave buttons in the space management page.

• Fixed filtering for related cards in a board.

• Fixed a rare issue where the real time collaboration in card descriptions would take 30secs to reconnect.

• Links to pages in comments and checklist items will now display the page’s icon.

• Screenshots that are pasted directly from your clipboard into a comment are now visible to other team members.

• In Safari, fixed an issue with emoji icons appearing too big.

Improvements

• Edit pages within Inbox – if you receive a notification about a page, you can now edit that page directly within the Inbox.

• Mentions search now includes ‘Done’ and ‘Cancelled’ cards.

• Creating new cards when a filter is applied to a board should now be less confusing. We’ve changed the background colour behind the applied filters to make them stand out more, and we also show a feedback message to indicate that your new card may be hidden by the filter.

• When viewing a notification in the Inbox, clicking on the page name or card-ID in the breadcrumb will now navigate you directly to that page.

• Changing a page icon is now easier. Clicking on the page icon will now open the icon picker immediately, instead of showing the old dropdown menu for Edit and Remove options.

Fixes

• Space icons that have been set to an emoji will now display correctly in a card’s activity log.

• Cards in the ‘Not started’ status will now display the correct status icon in beautified links.

• In the child card dropdown on a parent card, the status icons of the children will now show the correct custom colours (if set).

• Fixed the tooltip for ‘untitled’ pages in the favourites section in the sidebar.

• Added a space between the timestamp and the word ‘edited’ on a comment.

• Tweaked the text on the Shortcut importer.

• We no longer show a delete button in the icon picker for Spaces.

• Fixed an issue where the ‘invite team member’ modal would not work in very old Spaces that did not have a Space icon set.

• Using keyboard arrows to select a notification in the Inbox no longer changes your scroll position at the same time.

Features

• Custom page icons (including emoji) – page icons are now more customisable and are displayed in more places throughout the app. Choose an icon from our own set, an emoji, or any image that you upload. The icon will be visible in the sidebar, breadcrumb, search results, beautified links, and pages that you share to the web.

Improvements

• Precise date/time stamps – hovering over the ‘2 days ago’ style timestamps in card activity and comments will now show you the precise date and time when the activity happened.

• When sharing a page to the web, the colours, fonts, and styling of the shared page have all had a slight facelift to better match the look of the Superthread app.

• You can now quickly set the ‘start date’ by clicking on the 3 dot menu on a card in a board.

• You no longer have to adjust the volume every time you watch a video attachment. If you adjust the volume, we will now remember it for your device.

Fixes

• Fixed an issue where you could not delete a checklist item immediately after editing it.

• The card description is no longer displayed on top of the search box when creating a relationship from an archived card.

• In Safari, when playing a video attachment, the volume control button is now positioned correctly.

• Editing a page title from within the Inbox no longer navigates you to the page.

• Dropdown menus within an open card will now be closed when you close the card.

• The members dropdown in a space homepage will now close when you remove yourself as a member of the space.

• Resizing the notification list in Inbox will no longer cause the real time collaboration avatars to move.

• Fixed an issue where you could not move your cursor out of text styled as inline code.

Features

• My work – we’ve created a new My work section in the sidebar dedicated to making it easy to find tasks that you’re currently working on. It has two tabs:

  • Assigned to me – this shows you all the tasks you’ve been assigned to, and are not in a ‘Done’ or ‘Cancelled’ status.

  • Created by me – this shows you all the tasks that you created in the last 30 days, and are not in a ‘Done’ or ‘Cancelled’ status.

• Emoji icons for Spaces – you can now set an emoji as the icon for a space. Just click on the icon in the sidebar and choose your favourite emoji from the new ‘Emojis’ tab in the icon picker.

• Emoji shortcodes – it’s now much easier to add emojis in cards, pages, and comments. Just start typing a colon : to bring up a list of emojis that you can search through and autocomplete by pressing Enter .

• Workspace logo – you can now upload a logo for your workspace. This will be displayed at the top of the sidebar next to your workspace name. You can upload a logo here.

Improvements

• Drag and drop into Favourites – you can now easily move cards into a favourited board using drag and drop. You can also drag a page onto a favourited page to make it a subpage of the favourite.

• We’ve added buttons to quickly create a new card or page at the top of the sidebar.

• Card descriptions and page bodies will now load faster.

Fixes

• Fixed an issue where uploading attachments to a card did not work in the Inbox.

• Fixed an issue where you could not edit a the URL for a link in a card description or page.

• Inline images pasted into comments are now visible to other people in the thread.

• Fixed a bug where you could not delete a duplicated View.

• Searching for a page that you are currently viewing, then opening it, will no longer cause the page contents to disappear.

• Notifications of inline comments will now scroll to the correct position of a page when viewing them in the Inbox.

• In the desktop app, notifications about inline comments will now scroll to the correct position in the page.

• Fixed an issue where sharing a page to the web would make the page contents disappear.

• Fixed an issue where changing the assignees on a card would now work in the Inbox.

• Using keyboard arrows to move your cursor within the card description now works in Inbox.

Features

• 🍏 Superthread desktop app – use Superthread natively on your desktop. Open links in the app instead of the browser, receive notifications on your desktop, and get back to work quickly without having to search through browser tabs. Now available to download for:

  • Mac Apple Silicon

  • Mac Intel

• Create cards from highlighted text – when highlighting some text, you will now see a ‘Add card’ button in the floating toolbar. This will open the card creation modal with the title pre-filled with your selected text. Saving the card will replace the highlighted text with a link to card.

• Drag cards into favourited boards – you can now drag cards directly from an open board, into a favourited board in your sidebar.

Improvements

• The calendar icon for due dates will now change back to grey when a card is moved to a ‘done’ status. This means ‘done’ cards will no longer show as overdue.

• Improved cursor behaviour when multiple people are collaborating in a page.

Fixes

• Renaming a page will now also update the page name in the favourites section of the sidebar.

• When viewing the Timeline layout, cards will no longer show as overdue if they are in a ‘Done’ status.

Features

• Browse and manage spaces – you’ll see a new ‘Manage spaces’ button at the bottom of the spaces section in the sidebar. This new spaces browser makes it much easier to browse, join, and leave spaces.

Improvements

• When viewing cards on a timeline, we’ll now display a warning if the card’s due date is before its start date.

• The timeline layout will now default to the ‘Quarter’ zoom level instead of ‘year’.

• We refined the design of notifications in your Inbox to make them easier to scan and read.

• When tweaking the start/due date of a card in a Timeline view, you can now see the precise date as a tooltip.

• Added a new overview video to the help popup at the bottom of the sidebar.

• Our quick start onboarding tutorial now supports dark mode.

• When viewing a page on mobile, we reduced the margins to make more room for your content.

Fixes

• Importing team members will now send those users invite emails.

• Keyboard navigation in search is now working again.

• The keyboard shortcut Cmd + C to copy text now works more reliably instead of opening the quick card creation popup.

• Dragging a card across another card in a board no longer triggers the hover state of the card below.

• Fixed an issue where bullet lists were not displaying correctly in public pages.

• Fixed the ‘Join Slack Community’ link in the help popup.

• Fixed an issue in Timeline view where newly created cards without a due date would incorrectly be displayed as being due today.

• The blue bell ‘subscribed’ icon will now consistently show the correct state when viewing a card in the Inbox.

• We fixed an issue where sometimes clicking on a beautified link would not open the link.

Features

• Link directly to a card attachment – the 3 dot menu on card attachments now has the option to copy a link. When you open an attachment link, images and videos will open directly in the media viewer. Generic files will be highlighted in the card.

Improvements

• Inbox filtering redesign – filtering your Inbox is now more intuitive. You can switch between the following modes:

  • New – only your unread notifications.

  • Unresolved – read and unread notifications that you have not marked as resolved (default mode).

  • Everything – all your notifications regardless of their read or resolved status.

• Card due dates are now visible in a board – if a card has a due date set, instead of just displaying a calendar icon, you can now see a compact version of the date.

• The performance of the list layout for boards has been improved so that scrolling is now much smoother.

Fixes

• The inline comment popup in pages now positions itself more intelligently so that long replies are no longer cut off by the edge of the browser window.

• The ‘role’ dropdown in the invite user modal is now responsive on mobile.

• Large beautified links no longer display outside the edge of the comment box.

• After viewing a card attachment, the attachment ID in the URL is now removed when you navigate away from the card.

• Hiding the card sidebar in the Inbox no longer hides the card sidebar for the rest of the app.

• We no longer display a tooltip when hovering over a View in your favourites.

• Editing a card title in the Inbox will no longer redirect you to view the card in its Board.

• Editing a card title in Inbox now updates the card title in the list of notifications.

• Fixed an issue when navigating to a board in a different space would sometimes not load correctly.

• Fixed an issue where you could not edit comments that were created from our Slack integration.

• Imported child cards now have their status icon and colour imported correctly so that they are visible when expanding the dropdown on the parent card.

• Imported card attachments no longer show an ‘undefined user’ when the user who performed the upload was not mapped to a Superthread user.

• Link directly to comments in pages – when opening a comment notification, the page will open, and scroll to the notification. You can also click on the 3 dot menu on a comment to copy a link directly to it.

Improvements

• Resizable Inbox – you can now expand/contract the width of the notification list in the Inbox.

• Responsive Inbox – when viewing a card in the Inbox, you can now show/hide the card sidebar to make everything fit better on smaller screens.

• Added an empty state to the Inbox for when you have not selected any notification.

Fixes

• Uploading a file attachment to a card via the Inbox now works.

• Navigating from a favourited item to the Inbox, now correctly deselects the favourited item in your sidebar.

• The list of notifications in Inbox no longer scrolls when using keyboard arrows to change your selection.

• Replying to inline comments in a Page no longer expands the comment pop up off screen.

• Video attachments in cards should now playback more reliably.

• Large beautified links no longer display outside the edge of the comment box.

• 📥 Inbox – all notifications are now delivered to your Inbox

  • 'Resolve' a notification when you've dealt with it by pressing E

• Shortcut (Clubhouse) importer – you can now easily import stories and epics from Shortcut, into Superthread.

• Quick start tutorial – new users now go through a 30 second tour of the app when signing up. You can also view the tutorial by clicking on the help icon at the bottom of the sidebar.

Improvements

• Invite team members to spaces – when inviting your team to Superthread, you can now choose which spaces they should be automatically added to.

• Timeline view – you can now drag cards horizontally in the timeline to move them forward or back in time.

Fixes

• When writing a long comment, deleting the first line will no longer cause the comment placeholder text to reappear.

• In the Trello importer, we removed the checkbox to import card cover images. They are always imported and will show in the attachments section of a card in Superthread.

Improvements

• Drag and drop to change dates in Timeline layout – you can now extend the due date, or tweak the start date just by dragging the edges of the card in the timeline.

• In Timeline layout, card titles are now easier to read when zoomed out, or when the start-end dates are close together.

• The 3 dot menu that appears when hovering over a card in a board now includes the option to copy the suggested git branch name.

• Toggle Slack notifications for comment reactions on/off from the Notifications settings page.

• Hovering over an item in your favourites will now reveal the breadcrumb path of its location.

Fixes

• Fixed a bug where hovering over a link inside of a checklist item and then clicking outside of it, would mean the user could no longer close the card.

• Toggles in the settings pages now have the correct styles in dark mode.

• Fixed an issue where opening a direct link to a card would always display the bell icon in the 'unsubscribed' state, even when you were actually subscribed to card updates.

• Placeholder avatars for users that have not yet uploaded a photo, not longer change colour when switching between light and dark mode.

• The 'leave workspace' option in the 'Members' settings screen now works again.

Features

• Format text in checklist items – you can now highlight text in a checklist item and apply formatting (bold/italic etc) to it using the new floating toolbar.

Fixes

• Fixed a Safari issue where pressing Esc to close the search would break keyboard navigation in boards.

• Fixed an issue where keyboard shortcuts would still be interacting with search results, even after you had closed the search pop up.

• Replying to a comment from Slack no longer shows up as a larger font size when viewing the reply in Superthread.

• Long comment threads in a page will no longer be partially positioned off screen.

• If you close a card whilst editing a comment, the comment will no longer remain in edit mode.

• Editing a cover image on a page no longer shows two identical pop ups.

• When pasting a URL over highlighted text, you can now press space to escape the link to continue typing regular text.

• Fixed an issue where you could not highlight and copy/paste text from a comment.

• Fixed an issue where you would not always be notified of being unassigned from a card.

Features

• Timeline beta – you can now change the layout of a board to 'Timeline'. This allows you to view cards on a calendar timeline to easily compare start and end dates.

• Floating toolbar for comments – when writing a comment, you can now highlight text and apply formatting options from the toolbar that opens next to the text.

• Start dates – to support the timeline view, we have added 'Start date' as an optional field to cards.

Improvements

• More relevant search – results are no longer grouped into boards, cards, and pages. Now we just show results in order of how relevant they are to your search term. This means the best match should always be at the top of results, regardless of if you're trying to find a card, page, or board.

• In-app feedback redesign – the 'toast' style notifications that pop up in the bottom corner of the app have had a visual refresh.

Fixes

• On mobile, opening a link directly to a card comment no longer causes the height of the app to shift.

• Opening a link directly to a comment now scrolls smoothly even when there are lots of child cards being loaded in.

• Toast notifications are no longer hidden behind the comments sidebar in a page.

• Editing two separate comments at the same time no longer causes the contents of one of the comments to show as empty.

Features

• Reaction notifications – when somebody reacts to one of your comments, you'll now receive a notification.

• Link directly to a Card comment – clicking on a notification will now open the card, scroll down to the comment, and highlight it, making it much easier to reply. You can also open the 3 dot menu on any comment to copy a link directly to it.

Improvements

• When leaving a space you will now be prompted to confirm your action. This is especially helpful when leaving a private space that you may not be able to rejoin.

Fixes

• Renaming a card inline in a board will now correctly modify the 'last updated' timestamp on the card.

Features

• Filter cards by 'last updated' – in a board and Views you can now filter cards based on how recently they were updated.

Improvements

• Progress meter in parent cards now feels more intuitive:

  • Child cards in the 'cancelled' state now count towards the completion of the parent card. This means you can still get a parent card to 100% completion, even if some cards were cancelled.

  • Child cards that are in any 'in progress' state now contribute 0.2x of their 'done' value towards the completion of the parent card. This avoids a situation where work has started on the child cards, but the parent still displays 0% progress.

• We've tweaked the spacing between sections in a card so they are more consistent and look slightly neater.

Fixes

• When viewing an archived card, the board the card belonged to will now consistently show in the background.

• The owner picker dropdown in a card no longer displays the keyboard shortcut A.

• After creating a quick page, dragging it into a new space will no longer navigate you to that space.

• The tooltip that reveals the full location of a child card will no longer be positioned off screen when the location has a very long name.

• The assignee picker in the quick card pop-up now supports keyboard arrows and will close when the user presses Esc.

• We no longer show the keyboard shortcut A in the members dropdown for a space, child cards, or when mapping using during a Trello/Jira import.

• Clicking on the top edge of a card no longer opens the due date picker.

Improvements

• Even further refinement to the dark and light mode themes.

• The 3 dot menu for a board now includes the options to copy a link to the board and favourite it.

Fixes

• When opening a child card, the 'card created' entry in the activity feed now correctly shows the activity for the child card, and not the parent.

• When you archive an entire list (column) in a board, all of the cards in that list will now correctly display as archived.

• We removed the clock icon from the board stats info panel.

• When using keyboard navigation to select a card in a board, archiving the list will now move your keyboard selection to the next available card in an adjacent list, instead of breaking.

Features

• Quick edit cards – when in a Board or a View, you can now quickly edit card details without opening the card. Just click in the 3 dot menu on a card or use the new keyboard shortcuts:

  • ⬆⬇⬅➡ to select a card

  • R to rename (edit title)

  • A for assignees

  • T for tags

  • D for due date

• The above keyboard shortcuts also work when viewing an open card.

Improvements

• Keyboard shortcuts are now displayed in dropdowns and menu options for actions where they are supported.

• We've added a link to 'Board settings' in the 3 dot menu of a board, making it easier to discover how to configure your pull request automation workflows.

• We've reduced the contrast of card outlines in board and list views to make it easier to focus on the card title.

• The dark mode theme is now more consistent throughout the app, including tweaks to settings pages, pop-ups, board view, pages, views, and the space homepage.

• Regular inline links now have a hover state and slight style tweak.

• We've added new images to the empty state of a space that now look good in light and dark mode.

Fixes

• In list view, using the browser back button will now close any dropdowns that were open.

• Fixed the colour of the image that is displayed in the empty page when you have not yet created any Views.

• Editing a workspace tag in the settings page will now update immediately without needing to reload the page.

• When re-ordering child cards, the child no longer reverts to light mode whilst dragging.

• On mobile, the 'Click to update' notification when a new version of the app is available now works.

• The Ctrl + \ keyboard shortcut to close the sidebar should now work on Windows.

Improvements

• The board settings page now prompts you to connect your Github account before being able to configure pull request automation.

• Keyboard navigation in the tags picker dropdown has been tweaked to make it easier to create tags that include a space character.

• Views should now open faster as we pre load results.

Fixes

• The scrollbar in the sidebar no longer appears on top of the workspace settings dropdown.

• Single clicking in the tags picker text input no longer selects all the text.

• Changing the colour for list statuses no longer causes the status dropdown to close.

• The scrollbar in an open card no longer displays on top of the search modal when you're in the homepage for a space.

• Dragging a card in list view will now cause any open dropdowns to close.

• When opening the status selection in a card, it will now scroll so that the currently selected status is visible.

• Typing special characters in the search bar no longer breaks the filter dropdown.

• The new board stats sidebar now works correctly on mobile.

• On Safari, we removed a box that would appear next to the info icon in the board stats sidebar.

• When editing a card title using keyboard navigation, you no longer have to press Enter or Esc twice to enter/exit the card title field.

• The scrollbar in a board no longer displays ontop of the board stats sidebar.

• Dragging a card in a board now causes the stats sidebar to close.

• Board stats – we've added a button to open a sidebar when viewing a Board that will show you how many cards transitioned through the board.

Improvements

• Keyboard navigation in Views – you can now use keyboard arrows ↑↓ to select a card in Views, Enter to open the card, and Esc to close it and go back to your position in the list.

• Dark mode theme now also applies to the sign up/in flow and loading screen, and we changed the default theme to match your system setting.

• Quickly add a new subpage by clicking the '+' button at the top of a page.

• Lots of tweaks to the new dark mode theme across the app, including headers, open card, board view, and settings page.

• You can now select the 'Create new list' button using the keyboard navigation in a board.

Fixes

• The child card progress meter is now visible when previewing a card by holding down shift or space.

• The 3 dot menu for changing a parent card is now closes when you scroll the card.

• Dropdowns in the child card section of an open card will now position themselves more dynamically so they no longer get cut off by the edge of the screen.

• Using keyboard arrows to change your selection in a dropdown menu will no longer cause the card to scroll.

• Fixed the placeholder text and styling of the pop up modal when duplicating a card.

• Fixed a websocket error that could occur when connecting a Github PR to a card.

• When in a View, pressing Esc to close the search bar no longer closes the view.

• When the quick page modal is open, typing f will no longer trigger board filtering to open.

• When viewing an image attachment, pressing the browser back button will now close the media viewer and navigate back to your previous page.

Features

• Search filtering – it's easier to find what you're looking for with more relevant search results. By default, we'll filter out cards that are in the statuses 'done' or 'cancelled'. You'll find the option to switch the filters on/off in the new filter button on the right hand side of the search bar.

• Dark mode 🌒 – we now support dark mode. You can change your preference in the new Appearance settings page.

Improvements

• Keyboard navigation in list view – you can now use keyboard arrows to select a card in the list view of a board.

• Views – we've overhauled the design of our Views feature to make it easier to filter across your workspace to create custom views of only the cards that you want to see.

  • Filter on card status – for example, show me all the cards assigned to me that are not in ‘Done’.

  • Create a View from a Board – when applying a filter to a board, you'll now see a 'Save' button which can be used to save the current filter as a new View.

  • Favourite Views – add any view to the favourites section of you sidebar.

• New app theme – we’ve update the default ‘light mode’ theme throughout the app to better match our new website. This also lays the groundwork for an upcoming dark mode 🌒

• Card relationships – marking a card as blocked, or blocking just got a lot more useful:

  • Filtering support – you can filter a board or view to show you all the cards that are ‘Blocked’, ‘Blocking’, 'Duplicates', or 'Related'.

  • Activity feed – when a relationship between cards is created or updated, you’ll now see a history of that in the card’s activity feed.

  • Real time syncing – teammates that are viewing the same card will now see card relationships update in real time.

• Drafts for card comments – when writing a comment on a card, if you need to close the card to double check some information, you can now re-open it and pick up where you left off without your unfinished comment being lost.

• Child cards progress meter – when viewing a parent card, you can now see the total number of cards and a progress meter for them.

Improvements

• Sidebar drag and drop – we've been working hard behind the scenes to make dragging things up and down the sidebar feel a lot nicer. Hopefully you should be able to consistently drop things exactly where you intend to, every time.

• Real time syncing for spaces – making changes to the contents of a space will now also be synced in real time to other users. This includes renaming the space, changing its icon, and modifying the boards in it (such as adding boards, re-ordering boards, updating board names etc).

• In search results, spaces that match your search term will now display if you are a member of the space, or not.

• We've simplified our importing process to no longer allow Trello or Jira imports into private spaces. This means your teammates can easily find the cards they have been assigned to after the import finishes.

• We've tweaked the behaviour of the dropdown for choosing the status of a new list to make it easier to keyboard navigate.

• We've tweaked the colours and contrast of items in the sidebar, and added a new settings icon.

Fixes

• On mobile, the buttons in the sidebar now have the same position in the favourites and spaces sections.

• Dragging a board into a space with no existing boards will now correctly highlight the entire space as a drop target in the sidebar.

• The vertical blue line that appears to highlight that the sidebar can be resized will no longer show up when dragging things in the sidebar.

• On mobile, cards will now consistently open in fullscreen.

• After printing a page, the sidebar will no longer change colour.

• Parent cards that have had all their children archived will no longer be coloured blue in the board preview.

• When in the list view of a board, archiving a child card will now correctly update the UI to remove the connecting blue line from the the parent.

• We cleaned up some old URL routes that are no longer used and could cause users to get stuck on a screen with a loading bird animation.

• When viewing a parent card, creating or archiving one of its child cards will now update in the small card in the board immediately.

• Members that have been removed from your workspace will no longer be displayed as a member of Space-ID 1.

• Closing a card immediately after changing its status will no longer cause the card to jump between statuses in the board.

• Links to untitled blank pages are now clickable again.

• Renaming a blank new page after navigating to a different space, now saves the page in the correct space.

• Automatically show/hide the sidebar – if you choose to close the sidebar, moving your mouse over to the edge of the screen will now automatically open it. You can also close/open sidebar using the new keyboard shortcut Cmd + \ on MacOS or Ctrl + \ on Windows.

• We've tweaked the colour and font of linked Github pull requests so that they better match the other sections in a card.

Fixes

• Opening the workspace menu at the top of the sidebar now correctly causes previously open menus in the rest of the page to close.

• Search redesign – the Cmd + k search bar has been refreshed to match the style of the rest of the app. We now include the status of each card in the results and clearly display which space each card/board/page belongs to.

• Drafts for quick pages – when using the keyboard shortcut p to quickly create a new page, we now save whatever you type as a draft. This means you can close the quick page modal, check something, and come back to it without loosing your work.

Fixes

• Fixed an issue where redirecting to the workspace picker screen would get stuck on a loading screen after logging in.

• Dragging a board from one space and dropping it into the homepage of a different space now works again.

• Fixed several instances where opening a card from your list of favourites, notifications, or linked parents cards would not display the correct space in the card's breadcrumb.

• Mobile support – we've made lots of small tweaks, style changes, and behaviour updates to make viewing cards, pages, and boards much more usable on small screens.

• Inline comments redesign – comments in a page have had a little redesign to better match the style of the rest of the app.

• When a GitHub pull request is linked to a card, you can now see the repo the PR is from.

• We've added a notification for when you are unassigned from a card, or removed from a space.

• When opening a page, your cursor will no longer automatically focus on the first line of the page. This prevents the on-screen keyboard popping open on mobile and makes it easier to use keyboard shortcuts instead of typing in the page.

• We've made the delete button for checklist items appear on hover, instead of being hidden in a 3 dot menu.

Fixes

• We fixed an issue when searching for child cards to add to a parent. The search results would not correctly filter out cards that had already been added as children.

• We reduced the file size of some of the images we use in the app to speed up page load times.
